Challenging the Churchill Falls MOU in Song

Gabe Gregory, former FPI executive, financial analyst, consultant and blogger is an avid opponent of the NL Government’s Churchill Falls MOU with Hydro-Quebec. Gregory had a song written to express his frustration that the Government has entered into an awful deal for a second time. He then turned the performance into a video using film footage from the 1960s and recent footage, current politicians having signed a version that the old “deal” resembles.

The production is called The Old Churchill Deal and the New MOU: The Lopsided Deal of the Last This Century. He hopes that it will help inspire the public to openly discuss the MOU among their friends and family, pointing out that the Furey Administration’s lopsided deal in Quebec’s favour will have the greatest impact on the younger people of the province. Produced by local talent, the video is professional quality and can be viewed here.

Remember this is not phantom money! This is resource revenue that represents support for public services such as schools, hospitals, and infrastructure.
